Visit At Citroen Park In Paris

Named after one of France’s main car manufacturers, the Park Andre Citroen is a modern gem of a park situated in southwest Paris, into the area known as Javel. The Park Andre Citroen and its thematic green areas, special architecture, and fusion of organic and industrial elements makes a visit here worthwhile and memorable. Park André Citroën is a 14 hectares open park situated in the XVe arrondissement (district) of The french capital. The park was constructed on the site of a former Citroën car manufacturing plant.

In 1915, Citroën constructed his factory on the banks of the Seine; it operated there till closure in the 1970s. It was created at the start of the 1990s and was officially opened in 1992. In charge for its design are the French landscape designers Gilles Clément and Alain Provost, and the architects Patrick Berger, Jean-François Jodry and Jean-Paul Viguier.

This park with its modern design provides many surprises for visitors! Its original layout combines structured planting with the free-flowering fantasy of natural plants and flowers. Water is omnipresent with water channels and a lot of water features
The park is embellished by means of two greenhouse pavilions (hosting exotic plants and Mediterranean vegetation) at the Eastern, urban end, which are separated by a paved area featuring dancing fountains. The South edge of the garden is bounded by a monumental canal the “Jardin des Métamorphoses” composed of an elevated reflecting pool that reaches through granite guard houses, lined with a suspended walkway. On the North part are two sets of little gardens: the six “Serial Gardens”, each with a distinct landscape and architectural plan, and a “Garden in Movement” that presents wild grasses selected to respond at different rates to wind velocity. A 630-meter diagonal path cuts through the parc, which constantly changes in its nature. To visit this wonderful place, you can take an appartement de luxe paris.

The park is house to a moored gas balloon operated by the Eutelsat Company, which allows tourists to rise above the Parisian skyline. The balloon is filled with 5,500 cubic meters of helium. It is 32 meters high and has a diameter of twenty two meters. For several years now the Park André Citroën has been home to a enormous tethered balloon which monitors air quality in The french capital and takes the public on a 150-metre balloon ride into the sky for a beautiful view of the French capital. The balloon provides a view of the Champ de Mars, the River Seine, Basilica of the Sacré Cœur and the Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral. You already know everything about Paris, go to another beautiful place and take an Appartement près de la Fontaine de Trévise.

The park’s numerous thematic green areas were conceived around color motifs and include a white garden, a “black” botanical garden, and green areas complemented by metals of diverse colors. Fountains and ramps help create striking perspectives.
