The Winter Sun Wins Once Again In Lanzarote

Lanzarote enjoys a fantastic reputation as a year long resort boasting great weather, and this year is no exception! A newly released record by the Spanish Meteorological Agency indicates that the Canary Islands basked in much higher than average temperatures for the time of year between December and February. When you have already booked a break though, the exceptional spell of weather will most definitely offer you a little something to look forward to.

The stats produced by the Spanish Meteorological Agency reveal that the islands experienced their warmest winter since 1961 with the average temperature of 19.4º C registered in coastal parts of the islands in this time frame, an increase of 1º C in comparison to prior years. With winter temperatures as good as these its hardly a revelation that Lanzarote is frequently referred to as a vacation hot-spot

Not that this is news to many of the island´s tourist visitors during the last few years, as it happens to be a winter sun favourite. But Lanzarote also has good credentials as a holiday vacation destination with a huge choice of accommodation available.

Today, progressively more tourists will choose to stay in Lanzarote villas as increasingly this offers the most comfortable type of accommodation, with many of the conveniences of home. This is very much the case in the oldest resort of Puerto del Carmen, which has a well developed tourist infrastructure already in place. As the vast majority of holiday villas in Puerto del Carmen all tend to be located in the most exclusive areas of the town giving good access to the tourist infrastructure which is already well developed.

This creates a very attractive backdrop for holidaymakers who choose the resort for their visit. Elsewhere, the most southerly town of Playa Blanca is also home to an impressive collection of villas in Playa Blanca available with a greater range of prices and size of accommodation.

Playa Blanca and Puerto del Carmen both benefit from their own microclimates as well which means that daytime temperatures here are noticeably higher than in other spots around the island. Equally The beaches in both towns are also considered amongst the best the island has.

However, many of those staying in villas in Lanzarote have their own swimming pools and guests often hard to drag themselves away from their pool side. But if you can bear to peel yourself of your sun lounger you will be rewarded with a wealth of attractions all over the island.

For a small island, it has a high number of attractions and sites of interest, which offer a good range of things to do, from cultural activities to sports. Many of these provide a unique insight into the lives of Canarians both historically and during the present. So even travellers who are not driven to seek the sun will find there is plenty to do on Lanzarote.
